Heartbreak Q&A Chain - Farah Khelil

The Heartbreak artists Q&A chain is a mini-interview series with the nine contemporary artists exhibiting in Heartbreak. Each interviewee raises a question from their own interests, which the next interview follows up on, approaching from their own perspective. Together, these linked interviews form a 'chain' that collectively asks, and answers, questions that cover a diverse range of topics: from artistic practice to the effects of geopolitics.

Do you believe that there is still a place for art between people and their screens, and do you think that art can invent an antidote to this technology addiction?

Farah Khelil: “I think that art is above all a matter of attention. More than an observer, the artist is attentive to his associated environment and he transmits it by gesture in his work.

Today the viewer is distracted, in my opinion the work of art continues despite this to be a favorable environment for an "ecology of attention."
