RUYA MAPS Launches its own Podcast Series

In a five part series, the Heartbreak podcast will unpack the different themes of the exhibition. Throughout the run of the 58th Venice Biennale episodes will be released on: Dido and Aeneas, Layla and Majnun, maps, war, and rites of passage.

For its first episode the podcast explores Virgil’s Dido and Aeneas - characters who form a central metaphor in the exhibition. Host Ruby Gilding is joined by leading experts including Professors Stephen Harrison (Corpus Christi, Oxford), Bryan White (Leeds University), Themelis Glynatsis (Greek National Opera) and Edith Hall (King’s College London).

Listen to the first episode if you would like to find out more about how Virgil has been interpreted over the centuries, in what ways classical cultures understood heartbreak, and how the story of Dido as we know it is not all that it seems.
